And so it begins...!
The long-awaited dormitory project is officially underway! First step (as much as we love our trees), cut down this cedar in order to prepare for excavation beginning the 1st week of September - Lord willing.
This is a much needed building, as we have reached (or exceeded) max capacity during youth camp and Men Arise! The plans include a 2 story dormitory that can be operational year round: 8 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms upstairs & 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms + an apartment downstairs.
We've had lots of people ask us when the Dorm will be completed, and our answer is always "In God's timing". We will continue to work on the things as the Lord sends in the money and the labor to do so! We would love to have it completed by youth camp next year, but we'll see what the Lord has in mind. We're so very thankful that God has already sent in some "seed money" for us to begin!
We covet your prayers as we seek to accomplish God's plan in His perfect time!

We now have water and electric to the Snack Shack! Yay! Thank the Lord and His hard-working servants! The retaining wall is in place; trees were trimmed, and lots of dirtwork was done.
Vanessa brought up the food for the Snack Shack, and we got that put away as well.
Tim Lucas had to do some finagling, but he was able to get the microwave in its place!
The beef was donated and delivered for camp!
It's been a good day to work for Jesus - but then again, every day is:)

Gettin' 'er done before WCHC Family Camp next week! Wes McDonald and John Doyle came up today and did lots of dirtwork to prep for building a retaining wall and laying pipe behind the Dining Hall. They also expanded the parking area back there!
A trench was also dug for the electrical and plumbing to the Snack Shack. To be continued tomorrow...

Blessings of Bedding
Friday, we decided to go to Grand Junction to go on a date. Mike had received a gift card to Outback Steakhouse for Father's Day (thank you, Katie & Brandan:), so we were going to eat dinner there and make a quick stop at Sportsman's Warehouse.
The week before, I had found some bedding I really loved on Marketplace that would be perfect for the RV (that we use as additional guest quarters). It was very good quality and the colors were perfect to match the camper decor. But it wasn't really a need, more of a want. The price wasn't bad, but I couldn't justify the expense so decided not to inquire about it.
The night before we were to go to Junction, I noticed that the seller had dropped the price down to $50. This was for a high quality, king size comforter set. I decided to ask about it, and she said that she could meet up with us in Junction while we were there.
The moment she stepped out of her vehicle, I could tell she was a Christian. She just had a beautiful countenance that was undeniable. I gave her the money; she gave me the comforter, and we talked about the youth/ family camp that God called us to start. She shared that was a dream of hers as well. She was a kindred spirit.
We said our "goodbyes", and she asked if we had a page. As she drove away, I was messaging her the link when all of a sudden she pulled back into the parking spot.
God had told her to come back and return the money. She was supposed to give us the comforter set. My heart was overwhelmed once again at God's provision and blessing!
And I was reminded that God has no limits. He can use who He wants, whenever He wants to meet our needs - and sometimes, even our wants! What a mindful Heavenly Father we serve!

Silver Linings:
Saturday evening, we had an unfortunate accident at the ranch involving one of the golf carts. As a result, the golf cart was totalled.
We called a friend of ours, who used to be in the golf cart business, to see how much it would cost to fix it.
We ended up taking it to him this morning and realized it was even worse off than we thought. Mike asked how much he thought we could get a used one for (we were hoping to have one by the time Family camp started). It "just so happened" that he had a golf cart - the very same make as the one that was wrecked - that he was selling. A man had even come to buy it, but decided at the last minute not to. (Coincidence? I think not!) We could buy the used golf cart for about $1000 less than it would cost to fix the old one! And the new one even has a bed for hauling things. And we can use the old golf cart for parts - batteries (which we bought new last year), tires seat, etc.
It was God once again assuring us that He sees, He knows, and He has the resources to meet our needs!

We've been doing a few small projects since youth camp ended:
- LOTS of cleaning, washing bedding, making beds, mopping floors, etc. (A huge thank you to Abigail Goodenow, Kay Church, Katie & Brandan Bennett, Bri Sayler and Elizabeth Hamilton for their help!)
- Hanging the new sign for the Snack Shack
- Hanging new metal art up in the Dining Hall and one of the Stable rooms (We got an absolutely amazing deal on them from a pastor in Redstone:)
- Blowing in insulation above 3 of the Stable rooms to help with temperature control in those rooms (Thanks, Samuel McDonald!)

For the next 8 days, we'll be hosting 2 different groups, so it will be quite busy. And it has been such a special blessing to have our dear friends, the Todd & Elizabeth Hamilton family, for a brief, but much needed, visit!

God is good!

We're looking forward to our church campmeeting in August! Join us!
