Yesterday, we had the pleasure of attending the very first concert of Angel Gautreaux, a truly talented young musician and rising star.

At just 15 years old, Angel has already dedicated years to developing his extraordinary talent as a trumpet player and is currently a student with the Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra & Music School.

For the past eight years, Angel has been a special guest performer at Esperanza-Hope's Art Program Graduation, where he has generously shared his gift of music with our children and families. Watching his growth and accomplishments over the years has been inspiring.

Yesterday's concert was held to help raise funds for a new professional trumpet that will support him as he continues his musical journey.
Esperanza-Hope is proud to support young people like Angel who work hard to pursue their dreams and inspire others through their gifts.

Congratulations, Angel! We are honored to have watched your journey unfold and look forward to seeing all that you accomplish in the years ahead.

Last night, we had the honor of attending the POC Transform RI Scholarship Dinner, celebrating some of Rhode Island’s brightest young leaders and innovators.

Congratulations to Rio VieiraSpears, the 2026 Transform Rhode Island Scholarship winner. In addition to being awarded a $25,000 scholarship, POC will invest $1 million toward Rio’s inspiring idea to create a program that places high school students at senior centers and housing authorities. The goal is to support seniors through technology workshops while building meaningful intergenerational relationships.

Congratulations as well to all the incredible finalists: Evan Perez, Ella Kauffman, Snigdha Kethineni, Leydi Ramos, Tristan Boyns, Matteo Ullaguari, Gabriela Neves, Abigaile King, and Hope Carlson. You are all winners, and Rhode Island is proud of you.

Your ideas are inspiring, impactful, and proof that the future of Rhode Island is in great hands. From supporting seniors and expanding mental health access to creative education, food security, and community connection, each vision reflects compassion, leadership, and hope for a better tomorrow.
