It’s official! The Newport Festivals license plates are now out in the wild. Thank you to everyone who preordered a plate and came out to yesterday to pick them up.

Special shoutout to Ragged Island for hosting us. And to for sponsoring the legislation to make the plates. $20 from each plate will go towards our free music lessons.

Last pic is for all the history nerds. Our plate next to the first iteration of Rhode Island plates (from 1912) most of which were used for horse-drawn carts.

We teamed up with to donate over $5,000 worth of guitars to a high school in his hometown of Anchorage, Alaska. Nick was kind enough to take some time off his busy tour to visit the school, speak with the students about music and even play a few songs.

This was made possible through our ArtistGives program which allows artists on the lineup to support school music education programs in America.

For the last few months, our Music Lab students have had the incredible opportunity to record at Power Station New England, a professional recording studio in Connecticut. They’re creating their very own EP of original songs, which will be released this summer, leading up to their performance on stage at the Newport Folk Festival.

A huge thank you to Power Station New England for donating their time and staff to make this happen.

Last Saturday we had the privilege of hosting our first ever Music Education Summit. We invited music educators from across Rhode Island to join us for an honest conversation about the state of music education. We learned first hand about the challenges educators are facing and what we as a nonprofit can do to help. We believe this is a crucial first step in helping to turn Rhode Island into a nationwide leader in arts education.

Thank you to all the music educators who joined us and for all the amazing work you do changing lives through music.

Special shout out to our panelists:
