📊 NEW: See where RI's candidates for governor stand on immigration --

More than 160,000 RIers were born in another country, and nearly one in three of our kids (30%) live in an immigrant family. We asked the candidates for governor how they'd address the needs of the state's immigrant children and families: https://canva.link/0rqn0z0kglcrc0j

📊 NEW: See where RI's candidates for governor stand on health!

Rhode Island parents are struggling to find pediatricians. Between provider shortages, low Medicaid reimbursement rates, and a rising number of uninsured kids, families are feeling the strain.

So we asked the candidates for governor: how would you fix it?

📊 NEW: We're proud to share survey results! See RI's gubernatorial candidates stand on Education.

Rhode Island is often described as "middle of the pack" on education: 39% of adults hold a bachelor's degree, compared to 48% in neighboring Massachusetts. We asked the candidates for Governor how they'd close that gap and improve outcomes for RI kids.

Participants shared their plans on K-12 achievement, teacher support, and after-school and summer programs, including how they'd address RI's largest in the nation gap in after-school access between low- and higher-income youth, in their own words (unedited!).

This is part of a four-report series (Economic Well-Being, Health, Education, Immigration). All candidates who qualified for the ballot were invited to participate.

In October 2025, 135,991 Rhode Islanders relied on SNAP to put food on the table — and nearly 1 in 3 were children. Of those kids, a third were under age six.

SNAP isn't a side program. It's how Rhode Island families keep their kids fed, healthy, and ready to learn.

📞 Today is Call-In Day. Call (202) 224-3121 and tell your Members of Congress to protect and strengthen SNAP.
