Do you have a worn or damaged American flag?

In honor of Flag Day, the Knights of Columbus are collecting aged, damaged, or unserviceable flags for respectful retirement.

🗓 Collection Dates: June 14–29
📍 Drop-Off Locations:
– St. Mark Church, 31 Poplar Dr, Cranston
– St. Joseph Church, 92 Hope St, Providence
– St. George Church, 1493 Cranston St, Cranston

Look for the clearly marked Flag Retirement Drop Boxes at each church entrance.

🚫 Please dispose of flagpoles and staffs separately.

This is a meaningful way to honor our nation's flag and ensure its proper disposal. Thank you for joining us in this patriotic act!

Today, we stand in prayerful unity with Catholics across the globe as we welcome our new Holy Father:
Pope Leo XIV — formerly Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost, O.S.A.

🇺🇸 An American son of the Church, Pope Leo XIV brings with him decades of missionary service, leadership as Prior General of the Augustinians, and most recently, his role as Prefect of the Dicastery for Bishops. His election as the first American pope is a moment of grace and history.

As Sir Knights of Rebello Assembly No. 2808, we pledge our full support to the Vicar of Christ. We carry a sacred responsibility to defend the Church, her teachings, and her shepherds—especially the Supreme Pastor.

Prayer for the Successor of Peter
O Lord, bless and strengthen Pope Leo XIV.
May he lead your flock in truth and love, with courage and humility.
Guard him with your angels, guide him by your Spirit, and sustain him by our prayers.

Saint Peter, pray for him.
Mary, Queen of Peace, pray for him.
Blessed Michael McGivney, pray for him.

Congratulations Bishop Henning on your appointment as the new Archbishop of Boston. You will be missed our thoughts and prayers go with you!

This morning, the Holy Father, Pope Francis, has appointed our bishop, Most Reverend Richard G. Henning, S.T.D., as the 7th Archbishop of Boston. He will succeed His Eminence, Cardinal Seán Patrick O’Malley, who has led the Archdiocese of Boston since 2003.

The change was effective at Roman Noon (6 a.m. Eastern Time) today and was publicized in Washington, D.C. by Cardinal Christophe Pierre, apostolic nuncio to the United States. Archbishop-Elect Henning became Bishop of Providence on May 1, 2023. He will remain at the helm of the Diocese of Providence as Apostolic Administrator until his installation in Boston on October 31.

The Archdiocese of Boston will host a press conference this morning at 10 a.m. which will be livestreamed at https://provd.io/aug5.
