Climate Jobs was honored to spend time with the Green Changemakers of Pawtucket and Central Falls talking labor history, climate jobs, and what a just transition really means.

It was inspiring to hear these young people’s ideas and experiences; they are the future of this movement.

Appreciate Groundwork Rhode Island for building the next generation of leaders.

CJRI was proud to present at the Rhode Island Land & Water Summit last weekend to talk about what a Just Transition really means.

Protecting our environment and creating good, union jobs go hand in hand and we won’t accept one without the other.

NOTUS spoke with labor leaders about how the Trump administration’s repeated attempts to
cancel offshore wind and other infrastructure projects are impacting the projects’ union workers
and their families.
Patrick Crowley, president of the Rhode Island AFL-CIO, said the Revolution Wind project
resumed construction last month after a federal judge ruled in its favor, but the impacts remain:
his union members haven’t felt heard. ⬇️

Stop-work orders do not just pause a project.

They pause people’s lives.

Hear from Local 271 member Antonio Gianfrancesco who has worked on Revolution and Sunrise Wind.

Once again, Rhode Island workers, labor leaders, community members and climate advocates came togehter to fight back. When our jobs are on the line, Rhode Island shows up.

Today's press conference and rally sent a clear message: protect offshore wind, protect union jobs, and keep us building American energy here at home. Thank you to everyone who came out this morning to support good jobs, reliable energy, and an affordable future.

Just in time for the holidays- the Trump Administration just suspended five offshore wind projects already under construction, including Revolution Wind, putting union jobs on hold and keeping energy costs high. These attempts to flatline the OSW Industry must stop- stop taking jobs from our workers.

Today, the EC4 approved Rhode Island’s Climate Action Strategy Plan.

This vote marks an important milestone but a plan alone won’t deliver results.

Now it’s time to act and fund it.

A letter released by leaders from labor unions, environmental organizations and community groups calls for dedicated funding that turns the Climate Action Strategy’s recommendations into real, on-the-ground action. A climate infrastructure bond would invest in climate solutions that strengthen energy security, lower energy costs, and deliver family-sustaining union jobs, while directing resources to frontline communities most impacted by climate change. By establishing a dedicated fund, the bond would help overcome upfront cost barriers for clean energy and climate infrastructure and ensure Rhode Island meets its Act on Climate mandates in a way that advances climate action, good jobs, and justice.

The plan is approved.
The workers are ready.
Now lawmakers must put real dollars behind real solutions.

We are ready to keep building!
