This morning our team was delighted to join the ribbon cutting for the brand-new Fine Arts Center at URI! 🎨🎼🎭

A long time coming, this new 71,000 square foot space brings together art, music, and theatre students with galleries, studios, classrooms, practice rooms, performance spaces, and public art projects- creating more room for creativity and collaboration.

This project is a great example of what public investment can make possible: supporting skilled union labor, strengthening public education, and creating better learning environments for Rhode Island students. The investment in this project wouldn't have been possible without support from Rhode Island voters, and continued leadership from the General Assembly.

Thank you to everyone who brought this project to life, we can't wait to see all that URI students will create in this new space! 🩵🐏

Offshore wind exists in New England because union workers built it.

Meet Jason, proud laborer, skilled offshore wind worker, and prime example that the best crews always have a good sense of humor.

Meet Thomas, an offshore wind electrician and possible owner of the most powerful mustache in offshore wind. This week, The Guardian put a national spotlight on Thomas and other workers who have been saying the same thing all along: offshore wind should not be treated as some political game. It is real work, done by real people, that powers our communities.

Our Meet Our Members series this summer is about exactly that: the personalities behind these projects and the skilled union labor that makes it all work.

CJRI was thrilled to attend the ribbon cutting for URI’s new Ocean Robotics Lab!

This world-class facility will provide students and researchers with cutting-edge laboratories, equipment, and technology while strengthening Rhode Island’s position as a national leader in the blue economy.

We were excited to hear that URI is exploring geothermal at the Bay Campus with support from Rhode Island Energy, with plans to use thermal energy to help power the campus.

URI is a major economic engine for our state, generating billions in economic activity each year and helping prepare the next generation of workers for high-quality careers. The opening of the Ocean Robotics Lab is another example of Rhode Island investing in innovation, research, and good jobs.

With half of Climate Jobs being URI alum, this was an amazing moment. Thank you, URI, for your leadership and vision!
