Tune in at 6:30pm:
ORDINANCE COMMITTEE HEARING & EMAILS

This Thursday at 6:30pm, Coastal Partners is appearing before the Ordinance Committee and will present its "revised" proposal. Their objective will be to show this new petition is "substantially different" from the petition withdrawn in December 2020. We feel these are minor changes that do not alter the fact that the property is not suited for a big-box store, gas station and large scale retail complex. ALL of the concerns and problems with this development's impact on surrounding neighborhoods and the City remain.

Make your voice heard: Email Council Members (see below) and attend (and speak) at Thursday night's meeting. The City Council is still meeting virtually and the meeting can be accessed at: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81795848907?pwd=QWVsb2VwWEU5U3cwN2ZLQkxrNzRmZz09

An article about Coastal Partners’ request was in today’s Cranston Herald.

At this time, the developer is trying to prove that this iteration is significantly different than the plan he withdrew in December. He cannot officially submit the revised plans unless the City Council members vote in agreement that it is substantially different.

Stay tuned for contact information for the current City Council members and other elected officials.

By DANIEL KITTREDGE Have plans for a Costco-anchored commercial development at the current home of Mulligan's Island Golf & Entertainment been changed enough to warrant another look? That question will go before members of the City Council in May.
