Today we staffed an ambulance for the Hillside Avenue School Color run fundraiser. It was a bit wet but the turnout was still strong and the kids had a good time.

It’s been a busy few weeks for our members! From football games and a ramen-eating contest to the St. Michael’s Feast, our crews have been out in the community providing standby coverage.

Thank you to everyone who gave their time to help out. We appreciate all that you do for the squad and our community!

Last night, we had a great time helping the Cranford Jaycees with their annual Oktoberfest! Our members helped check people in and sell 50/50 raffle tickets throughout the night. Thank you to everyone who came out and supported the event and to the Jaycees for their continued support of Cranford First Aid Squad!

If anyone has a gas or battery powered leaf blower they no longer use, CFAS is in need. A powerful backpack style is preferred. We use it to clean sticks and leaves off our flat roof and also to blow debris out of the gutters. We generally use a corded electric one for most purposes but it does not reach for this use.

Rarely do we have two crews at Trinitas ER at the same time. Friday night it happened. It’s maybe a once every few years occurrence.

For our monthly training we visited the Union County dispatch center in Westfield. It was helpful to see where and how 911 calls are taken and then assigned to the appropriate Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulance.
