Another afternoon of competition is in the books, and it was a great event!!!! There were a record number of entries and a record amount of sponsorship donations (which meant we were able to give out amazing prizes and payout). Winners in the 2022 brandings were:
Senior 1st - Hoot Raney and Ed Dunlap 1:57.55.
Senior 2nd - Jackie Allum and Joe Maher.

Women 1st - Dani Gregg, Lindsey Robertson, Dana Peila, Colleen Withers 5:10.37.
Women 2nd - Andrea Clark, Kelli Rose, Samantha Kerns, Kelsie Miller.
Women 3rd -Raime Stoddart, Natalie Norcutt, Kerry Opie, Lori Peila.
Women 4th - Dani Gregg, Lindsey Robertson, Rachel Harris, McKatee Mason.

The mixed branding is full. Any entries from here on will be placed on a waiting list, in order received.

UPDATE: There are now only 5 slots left in the mixed. Once we reach 20 teams, a waiting list will begin, in order that entries are received.

A few things to send out to everyone this morning:
First, I would like to give kudos to my procrastinating friend (I won't name names) for being in the first 10 mixed teams to enter! Whoop, whoop!
Second, there are now 12 mixed teams entered. We cap it at 20, so don't be like my former procrastinator buddy...get those entries in to us.
Third, the team branding will start at noon this year. This will hopefully make it easier on everyone - 4-Hers may not have as big a conflict with showing their animals, everyone who competes in Friday Night's rodeo won't have as long to wait before evening events, our cattle supplier and haulers won't be trying to work and load cattle at 5 a.m., and mostly, Brooke and I can slow our roll down a tad bit Friday morning.
Finally, if there's a woman who wants to get into the draw, I have another who also would like a partner... let me know. And I have a man who is a great hand, who would like to be on a mixed team (he's out of county).
So, that's it for now.... have a VERY HOT week and weekend!

IT'S TIME!!!!!
Entries for the 2022 Harney County team brandings are now open! The brandings will be held on Friday, Sept. 9 (possibly, with a later starting time than in the past... more on that later!) Entry deadline is August 26.
Entry fee is $35 per person, and FEES MUST ACCOMPANY ENTRIES.
As always, the mixed will be limited to 20 teams, and the women's and senior will be unlimited.
At least 3 members on the mixed and women's must be Harney County Residents (this includes graduates of Harney County high schools, who do not currently live in the county.)
The senior branding is a team of two, both must be 60 years old, or over.
Women can enter on a four-person team, and also get into the draw pot with one other person.
Mixed teams are two men, two women.

Alrighty team branders.... it is time! Entries for the women's, mixed and senior competitions are now being accepted. The entry form is attached to this post; is available online, on the Harney County Fair and Rodeo website in the 2021 fair book; or I can email or mail a copy to you. Entries in the mixed will once again be limited to the first 20 teams. Women's and senior entries are unlimited. Deadline to enter is August 27.
