Net proceeds benefit the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention, funding research, advocacy, survivor support, education, and awareness programs – both to prevent su***de and to assist those affected by su***de. Many of you may remember that in 2014 I participated in the Overnight in Philadelphia. It was an amazing experience - I met so many people like you and me - who have had their lives to
uched by su***de. I vowed then that I would do the Overnight every year that I was able. In 2015, I was not able to participate as the walk was the same weekend as my daughter's graduation. In 2016, I participated in the Overnight in New York City. Su***de affects so many people - so many people we know and love - and we may not even be aware. I myself have battled su***de in my own life for many years, and have held my daughter's hand while she battled for several years as well. It is a horrible feeling, to believe that life is not worth living. Many people don't find help or an outlet, and they lose their battles. I am walking to try to find a way for help to reach every single person in need. I am raising money in the hopes that one day su***de will be a thing of the past. Every single dollar raised goes to the National Foundation for Su***de Prevention, and is used towards making life worth living, and reaching those in need throughout our communities.
