The Mountaineers maintain 150 miles of NY State snowmobile trails using three groomers. Our trails are located in Southern St Lawrence County in the Town of Clifton, Fine, and part of the Town of Colton. We are responsible for main corridor trails 7A, 7C, and 8. We also maintain secondary trails, S73, S80, S80B, S80G, S81, S83, S88, S88A, and S89. In addition, we maintain 11 Club Trails; 709, 710,

712, 713, 740, 748, 749, 750, 762, 763, and 780. There are over 10,500 miles in the Statewide Snowmobile Trail System traversing 45 counties, maintained by over 200 clubs, and is funded through 51 municipal sponsors. This vast trail network is comprised of lands under the jurisdiction of OPRHP, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), NYS Canal Corporation, national forest land, local governments, and many private landowners who have increasingly opened their property to snowmobiling with insurance coverage provided by the state snowmobile program. Thank you club member Albert Donovan from Bergen, NY (WNY). He took the MTN drag home for the summer and replaced the pan, and repaired the rails. He donated his labor and provided transportation for the nearly 500 miles round trip. With adequate snow, trails can open in 8 weeks. Our 150 miles of trails, requires dedicated volunteers like Albert.

We are moving mountains one trail at a time. Please join our club for the 2025-2026 season.

Today we highlight long time club sponsor JC Merriman’s, in Norwood. They offer FREE Delivery, something the big box stores don’t offer. They sell building materials, docks, propane & home heating oil. They are avid snowmobilers and helped with trail work.

Our 60+ club sponsors are very important to our success. Please support businesses that support us.

Thanks to all of the people who stopped by our booth at the Big East Power Sports Show in Syracuse. We met hundreds of amazing people. We handed out hundreds of both CLM & SLCSA maps. We are psyched to have 21 new members!
A special thanks to Karen Caldon (secretary), Heather Wilson (president), and Leo Burns (Board of Directors) for keeping the booth open for 16 hours. Thank you Pat McClusky for helping us pack up the booth.

Anyone who joins our club between 4/1/25 and 12/1/25 will be entered into a drawing for a battery operated Stihl chainsaw.
Please volunteer & join clubs where you ride.

Thank-you to Jockos for supporting the sport of snowmobiling. This will be a great help with the limited gas available for sleds.

You guys asked for it so we’re going to respond. One step closer to 24/7 non ethanol gas.

Thank you Chris Cowen for brushing the S73 parking lot and the east end of S73. This is adjacent to State Rte 56 at the old Backwoods Restaurant, approximately 3 miles north of Sevey Corner/Rte 3. Because of hunting season, today marks our last day of brushing NYS Conservation Easement land.
We are moving mountains one trail at a time. Please volunteer & join clubs where you ride.
