Great news! Thanks to your advocacy, House Bill 369, the Parking Lot Reform and Modernization Act, passed the Senate State and Local Government Committee and is heading to the Ag, Energy, and Environment Committee. It’s scheduled for a hearing on Wednesday at 9am, and we need your help protecting our waterways and communities from runoff and flooding.

Here’s how to take action:
🔍 Find your senator and their email at www.ncleg.gov/findyourlegislators!
✔ Check to see if they are on the committee (see list below)!
📧 Email your senator and urge them to support H369!

The North Carolina short session is right around the corner!

Lawmakers return to Raleigh next week, and we're making sure conservation is part of the conversation.

H369, the Parking Lot Reform and Modernization Act, is one of our key priorities this session. It removes outdated parking regulations and allows parking spaces to be built based on actual demand, helping reduce runoff and flooding, lower development costs, and support more walkable communities. It also gives certain local governments tools to better manage runoff during redevelopment.

This is a critical moment to shape how NC grows. Stay tuned for ways to take action!

NC House Bill 369 is a win for North Carolina communities, businesses, and waterways!⁠
⁠
The bill tackles two big issues: runoff from paved surfaces that pollutes streams and causes flooding, and outdated parking regulations that create excess pavement and higher costs for businesses and consumers.⁠
⁠
By restoring local government authority to manage runoff on redevelopment sites and giving developers flexibility on parking, H369 helps protect waterways and build more affordable, walkable, resilient communities.⁠
⁠
H369 will start moving through the Senate next week. Stay tuned!
