A gentle guide to help your son open up—without pressure or power struggles.

05/16/2026

1. You already think you know everything.
Freemasonry tends to ruin that illusion pretty quickly.

2. You need instant answers.
Masonry is frustratingly slow. Sometimes it takes years before something “clicks.”

3. You can’t handle symbolism without yelling “cult!”
Every staircase, compass, or apron will send you into cardiac arrest.

4. You hate old men telling stories.
Unfortunately, some of those stories contain more wisdom than modern podcasts.

5. You expect secret world domination.
Most lodges can barely agree on where to order dinner after the meeting.

6. You dislike self-reflection.
Freemasonry has an annoying habit of making a man confront himself.

7. You need constant entertainment.
No explosions. No boss battles. Mostly architecture, philosophy, history, and awkward fellowship.

8. You think brotherhood means blind agreement.
Masons argue constantly. They just usually shake hands afterward.

9. You want perfection from imperfect men.
A lodge is basically humanity in miniature: wise men, flawed men, funny men, stubborn men.

10. You’re unwilling to work on your rough edges.
Because at the end of the day, Freemasonry isn’t really about secrets. It’s about the uncomfortable process of becoming better.

In a world full of noise, choose to build yourself in silence and strength.

True growth begins within — through wisdom, discipline, and truth. When the foundation is solid, everything you build will stand the test of time.

Let your actions speak, let your character shine, and let your journey inspire others.

✨ Build yourself… then build the world.

The Square and Compasses
by Ron C. Nischwitz Sr. 8-6-2025

You wear the badge our sacred sign,
The Square and Compasses, bold, divine.
Not for vanity, nor idle pride,
But for the truth it holds inside.

It marks a vow, a solemn grace,
To walk upright in time and space.
To measure thoughts, to shape the soul,
To bind the heart to virtue’s goal.

This emblem speaks of ancient light,
Of builders sworn to do what's right.
Its lines are etched in moral law
A mirror held to reveal our flaws.

To wear it is to bear a weight,
A charge to act, to elevate.
For every glance upon that seal
Demands your life reflect its zeal.

But should you falter, or turn away,
Or let ego lead your steps astray
Then strip it off, let truth be told:
You’ve not earned what you now behold.

For symbols live through deeds, not name,
And hollow hearts defile their flame.
So wear it not unless you dare
To live the light that it declares.

On National Poppy Day, the Friday before Memorial Day, wear a red poppy to honor the fallen and support the living who have worn our nation's uniform. 🇺🇸 The red poppy is a nationally recognized symbol of sacrifice worn by Americans since World War I to honor those who served and died for our country in all wars. It reminds Americans of the sacrifices made by our veterans while protecting our freedoms.
