Leadership is more than a title, it’s choosing to step forward so others know they can too! ✨

This week, I had the incredible privilege of attending the very first Kansas Behavioral Health Center of Excellence Emerging Leaders Conference hosted at the inspiring Kansas Leadership Center. Surrounded by passionate professionals, advocates, and future leaders, I was reminded just how powerful collaboration and vision can be when it comes to shaping the future of behavioral health care in Kansas!

As a first-generation student and future psychologist, it was especially meaningful to attend as the first student in my program to receive support from the Kansas Behavioral Health Center of Excellence. Opportunities like this are exactly why these initiatives matter. By investing in students, mentorship, and leadership development, we are building a stronger future for behavioral health care and helping close critical gaps in access across our state (especially in rural and underserved communities)! 🌾🌻

Another great honor was being featured as the story tied to the initiative in an article highlighting the mission and impact of the Kansas Behavioral Health Center of Excellence and the work being done to support the next generation of behavioral health providers. To know that my story may help encourage future students to pursue this path, and aid in gathering continued support, is something I will never take lightly!

The Miss America Crown is built on Scholarship, Success, Style, and Service, and this experience reflected every one of those values! Kansas has incredible leaders rising up to meet the moment, and I am so grateful to play even a small role in that future! 💙

Here’s to being one step closer to making a difference and one step closer to taking this all to the Miss KS Stage! 👑

152nd Kentucky Derby! I witnessed history!!! 🐎✨

Yesterday at the Kentucky Derby, I watched more than a race. I watched a moment that redefined what’s possible!

As someone who was raised to honor and respect horses, there is something incredibly powerful about seeing these animals run with such strength, heart, and purpose. It’s a kind of beauty you don’t just watch, you feel.

BUT what made this moment even more unforgettable?
Watching a woman rise to the top by becoming the FIRST female trainer to ever win the Kentucky Derby in 152 years. History didn’t just happen… it changed everything! 🤍

I heard all day of the pageantry being displayed in the day of the Derby, and in reflection, I can’t help but think about the values I carry with me on my own stage through the Miss America Organization:
✨ Style: showing up with confidence and authenticity
✨ Scholarship: honoring the dedication behind every dream
✨ Service: using your voice to uplift others
✨ Success: redefining what achievement can look like
✨ Sisterhood: celebrating and supporting women as we rise together

Because whether it’s on a racetrack or a stage…
when women break barriers, they don’t just win, they create space for the next generation of dreamers to follow suit!

And that’s a race worth being part of! 🐎👑

✨ National Pageant Day ✨

The glitz and the glam will always be fun with the lights, the gowns, and the sparkle, but… my favorite part?

It’s everything you don’t see!

The quiet moments backstage, helping zip dresses and fix hair. The deep breaths before stepping on stage. The laughter, the nerves, the “you’ve got this” whispers!
It’s the girls who walk in as competitors and leave as sisters! 🤍

Because at the end of the day, the crown is special, but the connection is everything!
