Please be aware that the Coweta Fire Department recommends avoiding all outdoor burning through Thursday, Feb. 19, until weather conditions improve.

Fires spread quickly and unpredictably, especially in dry conditions. Please avoid using tools or equipment that could create sparks or heat near dry grass, leaves, or other easily ignited materials.

If you see smoke or an unattended fire, call 911.

To allow for safe parking and attendance of the new Coweta Fire Department groundbreaking celebration, tomorrow, Wednesday, February 11, 2026, the city will be closing S. 305th East Ave. to through traffic from E. 141st St. S. to Highway 51, from 9:00 A.M to approximately 11:30 A.M.

Residents living in the neighborhoods off E. 143rd St. S. and E. 144th St. S. can exit their neighborhoods and head northbound only on S. 305th E. Ave. Police officers and barricades will be in place at the closures until the groundbreaking celebration has concluded.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. We are all excited about our city’s new public safety buildings and look forward to seeing their completion.

Behind every call answered is a spouse, a partner, kids, parents, all sharing the sacrifice and the pride! We all had the opportunity to gather last night at the annual Coweta Fire Department Christmas Party🎄🚒

We are deeply grateful to the firefighter union for providing a warm meal, the Indian Capital Technology Center for a place to gather, and to the local businesses who generously donated to help make this evening special. Your kindness wrapped this room in more than just holiday cheer, it wrapped it in love. ❤️

We also want to recognize the continued support of the City of Coweta, whose help make moments like this possible for our fire family and our community.

This is what the holidays are about, standing together, showing up for one another, and remembering that none of us do this alone. ❤️🎄🚒
