Cowarts Volunteer Fire Department

11:14 PM- CVFD, along with Ashford Rescue, was dispatched to a MVC on E US 84 and Broadway Ave. Upon arrival, two vehicles were involved, both with heavy damage as well as air bag deployment. One driver had to be extricated from the vehicle. Both drivers were transported by Ashford Rescue.

1:38pm- CVFD, along with Ashford Rescue, was dispatched to a MVC at the intersection of Prevatt Rd. and Forrester Rd. Upon arrival, there were two vehicles involved, both with moderate damage and airbag deployment. One occupant was transported by Ashford Rescue non-emergency.

At 4:10pm, CVFD was dispatched to a vehicle fire at the Dollar General in Cowarts. Upon arrival, a box truck was fully involved. The fire was quickly brought under control and extinguished.

Last night at 10:37pm, CVFD, Ashford Rescue, and Ashford Fire were dispatched to an outdoor fire that was quickly upgraded to a structure fire. Upon arrival, the second story of the home was fully involved. Multiple other fire departments were quickly dispatched for tanker trucks and manpower, as well as Rehobeth's ladder truck. All area fire departments worked together seamlessly and efficiently, allowing the fire to be extinguished as quickly as possible. A big thank you to all the fire departments and everyone that came out to assist! Great job to everyone involved!

9:43pm- CVFD, along with other area departments, was dispatched to assist Ashford Fire with a structure fire on Old HWY 84. Upon arrival, the structure was fully engulfed in flames.

CVFD spent some time at the Wiregrass Public Safety Center last night working on ladder training. Staying sharp, staying ready, and always learning so we’re prepared to do the job when it matters most.
