AFC is issuing a Fire Danger Advisory on Friday, March 27. The potential for critical fire weather elevates on Saturday, March 28, increasing the threat issued to a Fire Alert.

3/11/26- CVFD was dispatched to an outdoor fire on Barfield Ct. The fire was in a small area and was quickly extinguished. It was apparently started by the lawnmower.

Heading out to a structure fire yesterday. Thankfully, there was no major damage and no injuries.

5:57pm - CVFD, along with Ashford Rescue, was dispatched to a MVC on Forrester Rd. Upon arrival, a GMC Acadia had struck a utility pole. There was only one occupant in the vehicle and no airbag deployment. The occupant was transported by Ashford Rescue.

12:56pm - CVFD was dispatched to an outdoor fire on Glen Lawrence Rd. Upon arrival, a small shed was fully involved and a large field was on fire, as well as several hay bales. The fire was brought under control and extinguished. A big thank you to Ashford Fire and Webb Fire for coming to assist.

12:08pm - CVFD was dispatched to a large outdoor fire on Nascar Lane. Upon arrival, a large brush fire was burning out of control into a field and neighboring woods. The fire was brought under control and extinguished with the help of neighboring Fire Departments. A big thank you to Webb Fire, Ashford Fire, and Ashford Rescue for assisting!
