Looking forward to seeing you again this year as we remember our veterans!

Our 2026 theme draws inspiration from an unexpected source: a line from the film “Home Alone 2.” The quote, “Maybe they don't forget about you, but they forget to remember you,” underscores the importance of actively remembering the individuals who served, especially those whose stories risk being lost to time.

Our wreaths have arrived! Many thanks to our driver who volunteered his time to deliver these wreaths from Maine. It’s a great effort by many people to make this all come together!

We are one week away from fulfilling our mission to “Remember. Honor. Teach.” Come join us and help honor the lives of our veterans and teach the next generation to care.

We will gather at the Cowan Church of Christ for our ceremony and then walk down to the Cowan Montgomery Cemetery to place the wreaths. Then, follow us to Thorogood Cemetery as we honor the veterans there.

We hope to see you at noon on the 13th!

On December 13th, we invite you to join us as we come together to "Remember. Honor. Teach." This is part of a nationwide program. Last year, more than 3,000,000 wreaths were placed on veterans' graves, and Cowan contributed 280 of those. Our goal is not just to decorate graves, but to remember and honor the lives of our veterans. This is a special time for our community to gather and show the next generation the importance of caring.

This year, we will meet at noon inside the Cowan Church of Christ. This will give us a warm and dry place to gather if the weather is bad. We hope this makes it easier for everyone who wants to join. Afterward, we will walk to the cemetery to place the wreaths. We will start at Cowan Montgomery and then continue to Thorogood.
