Sun’s out, brains on ☀️🔋

Today at WSCC, our young innovators learned all about renewable solar energy, how it powers motors, and then had a great time building their own mini solar panels with Decatur Makers.

If you could power ONE thing in your house with solar energy, what would it be first? Drop it in the comments 👇

This past Saturday, WSCC students and staff proudly participated in the Black History Month parade around the Covington Square in Covington. They decorated the float on Friday and completed the final touches early Saturday morning before the parade began.

Students enjoyed passing out candy, seeing other organizations’ floats, and spotting friends in the crowd. Thank you for allowing us to be part of such a memorable community event.

WSCC enjoyed welcoming the Ryan Engineers Team that spent the day with sudents on Wednesday afternoon. The Ryan Team introduced and shared with students the many facets of Engineering. WSCC students had many questions for the Team including suggested schools, skill sets needed, along with identifying various careers in the field of engineering. Following the presentation, students had the opportunity to design and build structures from tiles. It was an amazing opportunity and experience for WSCC students, staff and the Ryan Team!
