Right now, utility companies are forcing local communities to subsidize the massive energy demands of AI data centers while billionaires rake in the profits.

Utility companies and tech giants are not building their infrastructure just anywhere. They are targeting communities that are predominantly minority, economically disinvested, and politically underserved.

This is environmental racism. For decades, minority, economically disinvested, and politically underserved communities have been treated like sacrifice zones. Corporations dump pollution, build dangerous infrastructure, and extract wealth while leaving residents with higher bills, worse health outcomes, and fewer resources. Now it is happening again, this time to power the AI boom.
