TIPTON WATCH
Tipton Watch is a privately-funded 501C-3 organization led by a group of concerned citizens of Tipton County. Our initial goal is to raise funding to donate security cameras equipped with license plate readers for installation at strategic locations identified by the Tipton County Sheriff’s Department. These locations will cover the major entrance and exit routes throughout Tipton County.
It’s time to be proactive to policing in Tipton County! We want to assist our local law enforcement and help protect our community with security technology that quickly arms police with usable evidence from vehicle license plates. These cameras will detect stolen vehicles and wanted individuals by alerting law enforcement immediately.
Sheriff Pancho Chumley estimates that one single camera will provide the surveillance equivalent of several officers. Multiple cameras strategically located across Tipton County will exponentially increase the coverage area of our law enforcement with minimal expense.
