We are excited to announce that Brandon Parham will be serving as Camp Director for our 2026 Winter Camp!
Brandon began his Scouting career at the age of 11 in Troop 21 in Macon, Georgia. He has served as a Scribe, Patrol Leader, Assistant Patrol Leader, and Senior Patrol Leader of Troop 21 in Central Georgia Council. He is a Brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow, first inducted in Echeconnee Lodge, and even served as a Chapter Chief.
He is a graduate of the University of Georgia (go Dawgs!) with a Bachelor of Education degree and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language and Literature. Since graduating, he is in his 14th year as an Educator. He serves as an Assistant Principal of the Newton County STEAM Academy. Brandon started his career as a High School English Teacher for Henry County Schools. There he served as a Professional Learning Community leader for the English Department, chair for the Multi-Tiered Support Systems Committee, a Positive Behaviors & Interventions Supports Coach, a Head Coach for numerous sports, a Club Sponsor for the Beta Club and National Honor Society, and a Mentor Teacher for numerous teachers. Brandon later graduated from Kennesaw State University with a Master’s in Educational Leadership and is finishing his Specialist at Mercer University. He has served in numerous leadership roles in professional life, including leading multiple Professional Development for teachers, and helping to lead youth and kids ministry for his local church.
Brandon continued to impact youth as the Camp Director at Camp Rainey Mountain for 8 years. In this role, Brandon served actively throughout Northeast Georgia on several committees including the Outdoor Programs Committee, the Enterprise Risk Management committee, the Council Strategic Planning Committee, and the Properties Committee. Brandon is a camp staff veteran of nearly 18 seasons serving within The New Trail department, The Nature Lodge staff, the High Adventure staff, and in several leadership positions throughout camp including Assistant Program Director, High Adventure Director, Camp Commissioner and Nature Lodge Director. In 2024, Brandon was presented with the Silver Beaver award for his commitment to Scouting within the council.
Brandon continues to serve within the Scouting movement as the Zone 14 NCAP Assistant Coordinator for the territory. He has presented numerous training sessions on the value of the National Camp Accreditation Program and the value of quality outdoor programs for youth throughout the nation. He has also taught numerous sessions at National Camp School and has even served as Section Director for both Camp Directors and Program Directors all over the nation.
Even from a young age, Brandon knows the value that Scouting can have on a young person. Every day he seeks to embody the mission and vision of Scouting and to show every person he intentionally interacts with that they have a purpose in the world around them.
