Free Fishing in KY this weekend!

Kentucky’s Free Fishing Weekend is happening THIS weekend, June 6-7, 2026!

For one weekend only, anyone is allowed to fish without a license or permit. Whether you're visiting from outside the state or you live in Kentucky, the free fishing weekend is open to all.

It's a great time to grab a fishing pole and enjoy spending time with family and friends at the state's beautiful lakes, streams, and rivers!

Reminders:
• This is open to ​both Residents and Nonresidents.
• No License is needed for this weekend ONLY.

What a beautiful day for the Northern KY YoungMarines to march in the City of Newport, KY Memorial Day parade for the first time. YM/Sgt Bine and YM/Cpl Streder were honored to place the wreath during the ceremony.
The crowd had great energy and many people sought us out after to thank us for our presence. For our newest Young Marines, what a great experience for their first parade ever.

YM/Cpl Grant Streder was honored to be the guest speaker for the Gibson Cemetery Memorial Day Service in Bright IN on Sunday. The rain did not stop the nearly 100 community members who showed up for a lovely ceremony, although the precipitation did move us inside the 195-year-old church. They were so welcoming, extremely thankful, and very impressed with Grant and his speech. (At 11 years old, Grant was their youngest Guest Speaker ever.)
Thanks to Jerry Grigsby for inviting us, to the Bright Providence Presbyterian Church for welcoming us, and to the Betz and Centers families for joining us.

Congratulations to (former) YM/SgtMaj Abby Smith who not only graduated from Beechwood Independent School District on Saturday, she graduated Summa Cum Laude (meaning a GPA of 4.25 and above - and her final was a 4.4). During the commencement ceremony, Abby was highlighted in a speech by Principal Yanke (his speech begins at 45:40, Abby is mentioned at 49:50).
