When you link your Fred Meyer Rewards card to Covington Storehouse (LU516), you still get all your points, fuel points and rebates. Fred Meyer makes a donation to us each quarter based on what our supporters spend. Same groceries, same rewards, and your neighbors in 98042 get a little extra help.

Feeding America just released its 2026 Elevating Voices report, and a lot of it sounds familiar.

Among the people surveyed who've needed food assistance in the past two years, more than half hold paid jobs, and nearly 4 in 10 have household incomes of $60,000 or more. High food costs ranked as the biggest reason families are struggling.

We hear the same thing at our doors. Many of the families we serve are working hard and still coming up short when the grocery bill hits. They're our coworkers, our kids' classmates' parents, the folks next to us in the pew. They're our neighbors.

79% of people in the report said food banks are becoming more important in their community. We're feeling that here in Covington too, and we can't keep up without you.

We could really use a few more helping hands at Covington Storehouse Food Pantry! If you've got the heart for it and a few hours to give, we would love to have you serving alongside us.

Our biggest need right now is client assistance on the days our pantry is open. This crew is the first friendly face our neighbors see. You'd help with setup and teardown, check-in, the parking lot, packing food boxes, and walking carts out to cars.

🀝 Client assistance shifts:
Mondays 3 to 6:30pm
Fridays 8:30am to 12:30pm
Saturdays 8 to 11:30am

Want to help behind the scenes instead? We have spots for sorting donations, Mon/Thu/Fri/Sat 9 to 11:30am

Food Waste Prevention Week starts today! 🌱 It's a great reminder that small changes in our kitchens can make a real difference, for our wallets and for our community.

A few easy ways to reduce food waste at home: take stock of your fridge and pantry before you shop, plan meals around what needs to be used up first, and get creative with leftovers instead of tossing them.

Want more tips, recipes, and guides? Visit foodwastepreventionweek.com. And if you have extra shelf-stable food you won't use, consider donating it to The Storehouse, every can and box helps a neighbor in need.

Covington, you showed up! πŸŽ‰ This year's Day of Concern for the Hungry was a huge success, and it's all thanks to you.

Together, our community donated 3,286 pounds of food and $1,439 during the food drive at Fred Meyer and Safeway. That's real, tangible help for our neighbors facing food insecurity right here in Covington.

A special thank you to the Covington City Council (City of Covington, WA - Government) for proclaiming September 19th as Covington's Day of Concern for the Hungry. That recognition helped bring even more attention and support to the day, and we're so grateful for the partnership.

To every volunteer who showed up, every neighbor who donated, and every business that spread the word: thank you. We are incredibly grateful to be able to provide these resources to our neighbors because of you.

WOW. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our sponsors, individual donors, and community members, the Building Hope Auction raised just over $150,000! πŸŽ‰

We are beyond grateful for everyone who showed up, gave, and believed in this vision with us. This brings us into the next stage of the Building Hope project: selecting a general contractor in the next few weeks to help with pre-construction and cost estimation, with phase two of design set to begin early next year.

Thank you for helping us take this next step toward a new home for The Storehouse. Love in Action!
