Samaritan Car Care Clinic The Samaritan Car Care Clinic works on a referral basis with NKY social service agencies to help low-income families with car repairs.

Repairs are done using a shared-cost model with the goal of helping them stay on the path to self-sufficiency. The Samaritan Car Care Clinic ("SCCC") partners with Northern Kentucky Social Service agencies to help their clients with safety related car repairs. The Samaritan Car Care Clinic offers a lifeline to working poor families. Our services enable these families to maintain their cars, allowing them to access jobs and transport family members to school and health care appointments.

We are very thankful for the Duke Energy Foundation and the NKY Chamber for their Small Business Grant we were awarded, and for all the other small businesses they supported. It will be used to help with damage we endured to our building from the large storms that passed through in August.

Samaritan Car Care Clinic was founded in 2007 with a simple idea:
provide free oil changes to single moms in Northern Kentucky who had cars but couldn't afford to keep them running.

Nineteen years later, we operate the only non-profit car repair shop in all of Northern Kentucky. We have 10+ referral partners who refer their clients to us, and a donated vehicle program that puts a working neighbor behind the wheel when their car gives out and they have nowhere else to turn.

Offering a hand up to low income families is still the heart of our mission.

Donate a car. Make a financial donation. Volunteer.
There's a role for everyone in this work.

What an incredible honor for Bruce! We are blessed to have such a great leader. Thank you to Horizon Community Foundation of Northern Kentucky for recognizing Bruce and the other great leaders in NKY!

We’re proud to recognize Bruce Kintner as the 2026 Executive of the Year – Small Organization at the Horizon Nonprofit Awards Luncheon on September 29. As the leader of Samaritan Car Care Clinic, Bruce brings a hands-on approach, compassion and a deep commitment to helping people overcome transportation barriers.

Reliable transportation can be the difference between someone keeping a job, making it to a medical appointment or simply being able to care for their family. Bruce’s work has helped expand Samaritan Car Care Clinic’s ability to serve individuals and families, while his collaboration with nonprofit organizations across the region has helped connect more people with the resources and support they need.

Join us September 29 at St. Elizabeth Training & Education Center as we celebrate Bruce and this year’s outstanding nonprofit leaders. Tickets are on sale now: https://bit.ly/4fNOvrn

The number one reason people delay donating a car?
They can't find the title.

Here's what you need to know in Kentucky:
A missing title is a paperwork problem — not a dealbreaker.

→ Apply for a duplicate at your county clerk's office (Form TC96-182)
→ The title must be notarized before transfer — and we have a notary on staff to help.
→ Not sure where to start? Call SCCC — we've seen most title situations

Don't let a missing piece of paper keep a family from getting a car.

On August 20, the Samaritan Car Care Clinic received a $5,000 grant as part of the Diocesan Parish Annual Appeal. The DPAA, as it is known, sets aside a portion of its annual fundraising proceeds to support non-profit organizations in Northern Kentucky. Thank you to the DPAA and its donors for helping address transportation barriers in Northern Kentucky!
