🌊♻️ MAKING WAVES & CLEANING UP OUR RIVERBANKS! 💚💙

You never know what you’re going to find during a cleanup! 😂

Today, Keep Tipton County Beautiful Executive Director Jessica and our hardworking litter crew teamed up with Edmond McDavis III from the TN Delta Alliance to tackle litter along the riverbank and surrounding areas. And let me tell y’all… we found a little bit of EVERYTHING!

💪 487 POUNDS OF TRASH REMOVED! 💪

So, what did we find?

🥫 27 pounds of aluminum cans!

🚬 More cigarette butts than we could count!

🛏️ Half of a bedframe (because apparently somebody was redecorating outdoors! 🤣)

📱 Phone cases

📺 And yes… even a TELEVISION! 😳

Seriously, y’all… who takes a TV to the river?!

While some of our discoveries gave us a good laugh, the reality behind all this litter is no laughing matter. Trash left along our riverbanks can eventually make its way into our waterways, harming wildlife, polluting our environment, and taking away from the natural beauty of Tipton County.

👏 A HUGE thank-you to Edmond and the Tennessee Delta Alliance for partnering with us and to our litter crew for rolling up their sleeves and getting the job done!

💚 That’s 487 pounds of trash that won’t have the chance to end up in our river!

Every cleanup matters. Every partnership makes a difference. And every single piece of litter picked up brings us one step closer to a cleaner, greener Tipton County!

🌎 Remember, our rivers aren’t trash cans, and neither are their banks!

🍂🚂 FALL CAMP FUN AT Atoka Railroad Adventure Plus! 🦋🌻🐝

Oh, what a FUN day we had!!! ❤️

Today, we got to spend time with some AMAZING kiddos at Fall Camp at Atoka Railroad Adventure Plus, and let me tell you… these kids are FULL of creativity and imagination! 🎨🤩

We took something as simple as toilet paper rolls and turned them into our very own binoculars! 🔭 Once our masterpieces were complete, it was time to put them to work on our Pollinator Bingo Scavenger Hunt! 🦋🐝🌸

Watching these kiddos get creative, explore, discover, and get excited about nature was absolutely priceless! There were lots of laughs, big smiles, and some pretty impressive binocular designs! 😂💚

But wait… the fun didn’t stop there! 🤩 We also played our Trash vs. Treasure game, where the kiddos got to test their knowledge, have a little friendly competition, and win some pretty COOL prizes! 🎁♻️ Who knew learning about trash and recycling could be so much fun?!

We love being able to teach kids about the importance of pollinators, recycling, and taking care of our environment while having a BLAST doing it!

🍂🎉 FESTIVAL SEASON HAS OFFICIALLY STARTED! 🎉🍂

Yesterday, Keep Tipton County Beautiful had a wonderful time at the 31st Annual Heritage Festival in Covington! ❤️

The weather was PERFECT, the people were so kind, the music was enjoyable, and our booth stayed busy! ☀️🎶

🐦 The kiddos got creative making bird feeders
🎡 The adults got in on the fun and spun the wheel
🗑️💎 AND… we officially launched our brand-new TRASH OR TREASURE game!

We had so much fun putting everyone’s knowledge to the test and talking about litter prevention, recycling, and ways we can all help keep Tipton County beautiful. 🌎♻️

A HUGE thank you to Anna Jones and Litter Officer Dalton Hicks for spending the day working the booth and helping make everything run smoothly! 💚 We couldn’t do these community events without people willing to jump in and help.

What an incredible two days in Nashville! 💚💙

I had the opportunity to attend the 2026 Keep Tennessee Beautiful Affiliate Directors Retreat, and I’m heading home feeling inspired, encouraged, and full of new ideas to bring back to Tipton County! 🌎♻️

Over the past two days, we learned from some amazing speakers, heard updates from Keep Tennessee Beautiful, TDOT/Nobody Trashes Tennessee, and fellow affiliates, and talked about everything from litter prevention and conservation to ecotourism and ways we can continue making an impact in our communities.

One of my favorite parts was simply being in a room with other affiliate directors from across Tennessee. We all serve different communities, but we share the same mission: creating cleaner, greener, more beautiful places to call home. 💚

And of course, you can’t have a retreat without a little fun! We also enjoyed a networking social where we could relax, connect, share ideas, and build relationships with people who truly understand this work.

A huge THANK YOU to Keep Tennessee Beautiful and Nobody Trashes Tennessee/TDOT for investing in your affiliates and giving us opportunities like this to learn, grow, and come back home ready to do even more.

Two days of learning. Two days of networking. A whole lot of ideas coming back to Tipton County. 👀♻️🌱

Now it’s time to put them to work! 💪💚

🚨 BREAKING NEWS FROM HIGHWAY 51 🚨

Today’s Adopt-A-Highway cleanup took an unexpected and rather… bone-chilling turn. 💀😂

While collecting litter, our crew stumbled upon what can only be described as a TRAGEDY OF ARMADILLO PROPORTIONS. 🦴

Naturally, proper protocol was followed:

🔎 Scene investigated
🧤 Evidence carefully collected
📦 Remains secured in an evidence bag
🕵️ Investigation pending
⚖️ Justice for our armored little friend is being sought

We cannot release any further details at this time, as this is now an active KTCB investigation. 😂

Cause of death? Undetermined.
Suspects? Highway 51 has been real quiet since we found the evidence. 👀

One thing we CAN confirm: this may officially be one of the strangest thing we brought back from an Adopt-A-Highway cleanup. 🤣

RIP Arma D Lo. You deserved better than becoming part of the quarterly litter report. 🪦🦔
