Okay, Newton County, we are now under a Winter Storm Warning from 1 a.m. Saturday to 1 a.m. Sunday.
Yes, we may be getting snow. How much? Still unclear. 🤔 But the US National Weather Service Peachtree City Georgia says we could see up to two inches, which in Georgia terms is basically a lifestyle disruption.
Our friends at the Lavonia Police Department inspired us to offer a few friendly reminders:
❄️ If you can’t drive in the rain, you definitely can’t drive on snow.
❄️ Spinning your tires at a red light does not make you “look cool.” It makes you “look towable.”
❄️ Bridges freeze first. Ross’s parking lot freezes second. Facebook comment sections and the Covington GA Living Facebook group freeze into pure chaos.
❄️ If your emergency plan is “I’ll just wing it,” please… don’t.
❄️ Now is not the time to return the generators you purchased last week.
Also:
🛑 Sliding through intersections in a donut pattern is illegal.
🛑 “But I was going slow” is not a legal defense.
🛑 Calling 911 because your driveway is snowy is… not the move. Dispatch will be busy enough without unnecessary or creative questions.
We’ll be out working while some of y’all test gravity, physics and the limits of our patience. Help us help you by staying home, slowing down and remembering: snow does not care about your confidence.
Stay warm. Stay safe.
And if you see us… wave.
If you meet us… well… that’s on you.
And please, if you don’t have a really necessary reason to travel, stay home and enjoy the snow from your own property. 😀 It’s the best way to keep you and our first responders safe.
