What's the "why" behind conservation work? People. Relationships. Future generations.
We're incredibly proud to celebrate long-time OCNRCD board member and Orleans County Forester, Jared Nunery for receiving the 2026 Canure Dalmasse Award: a statewide recognition honoring extraordinary public service and dedication to Vermont's natural resources. If you've ever attended one of Jared's workshops, walked the woods with him, or heard him explain forestry in a way that actually made sense, this honor probably feels very deserved. Jared has spent years helping landowners, students, loggers, and communities better understand and care for Vermont's working landscape... often quietly, humbly, and far beyond normal working hours. We're lucky to have his leadership, humor, and deep care for both forests and people guiding conservation work here in Orleans County.
