Also donated by Joan is a booklet of poetry "by the girls and boys of the Red School Coventry, CT 1942-43". Below- a couple of examples of their work.
For those who do not know, the Red School was a 1 room school, that I think stood on Cedar Swamp Rd. I believe there were 10 school districts in town at one time and 10 one room schools built and maintained by their districts.
Yes, there is a One Room School Map created by Ginney Dilk. How many of those schools can you name? How many are still standing? Where was the 1st school?

This program came to the CHS Archives from Joan Clapp daughter of Talcott and Lorraine Clapp. It may be of interest to people who have sung with the 2nd Church Choir. It's a little difficult to read. The date is April 6, 1947. There were solos by David Motycka, Donald Hayden, Betty Banker, Loetta McKinney and Lawrence Robertson. The rest of the choir is listed on the last page.
