Sad post:
We lost Scrappy this week.
If you've been following this page for a while, you may remember this shy little cat was a littermate of Viennetta, who is now Felv+ and lives in a separate area on a porch with Wesley, who shares a similar diagnosis. Her other sisters, Puffin and Ghirardelli, got adopted 1 to 2 years ago. Scrappy was the most shy kitten of the litter, and was always a long shot to be adopted. We were hoping to find someone who was experienced with socializing cats or who was willing to foster. Unfortunately, Scrappy declined rapidly in the last few months, so I didn't put up any updated adoption posts since it was clear she wasn't going to get better. While it's sad to lose her, it's nice to know she lived most of her roughly 2 years of life in a safe and comfortable place. I visited with her every week during my volunteer shift, and our cranky calico recently acted as an adoptive mother to her. The second picture shows her snuggled with Roux, who she was close to before he passed. It always hurts to lose one, but we gave her the best life we could. Rest in peace, sweet Scrappy. You will be missed.
