During our Land Trust Day event, the Ocean State Fantails Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation were so kind to donate and, with assistance of Coventry Parks & Rec, plant wonderful new crabapple trees in Hope Meadow at the Whipple Conservation Area! These new trees have massive numbers of berries ready to support many song and game birds this winter! Thank you, Art Chapman, Scott Sevegny, and everyone who helped make this happen!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our first Howl-o-Ween Land Trust Day this weekend! We had such a great time enjoying the trails and sharing Halloween treats with all our human and canine friends. Congratulations to our costume contest winners, raffle winners, and all adorable pups who dressed up to bring us smiles! Thank you to our many local sponsors, to the Ocean State Fantails for your work planting new trees in the beautiful Hope Meadows, and to the RI Sierra Club for collaborating with us for this lovely event. We canā€™t wait for next year! Until then, see you all on the trails!

If you and your pup attended Howl-o-Ween, check out the link in our bio for lots of photos taken by one of our Land Trust members!

Today, a hiker at the Beaudoin Managment area discovered that another one of our trail signs had been vandalized, and another was completely missing - ripped out of the ground. The trail sign that had been vandalized had been propped back up. Other signs have been vandalized before today.

These signs were made by a volunteer who not only donated his time, but also all the materials, and who assisted us with installing them all around the property.

What do you think, Coventry? Should the Land Trust try to replace them, or are we just wasting time and effort? šŸ¤·
