With the lack of moisture, low humidity and dry vegetation we are implementing a county-wide burn ban. Our fire departments have been on multiple fires and need to rest. It appears we may have precipitation next week.

We teamed up with Vandervoort RVFD to make a South Polk County team to help support Special Olympics Arkansas Area 14. It was a great to see everyone come out for the support. It was a lot of fun just to be there.

While there is no burn ban in effect, outside burning is NOT recommended. Low humidity and high winds can cause a fire to get out of control fast.

Dangerous wildfire conditions likely Wednesday. Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
