This canoe project could not have happened the way it did without the outpouring of support in all the many forms. Whether you helped with a meal, made a donation, put in some labor, dropped off extra tools, etc, you became deeply a part of something bigger than any of us. There are so many things that have to happen behind the scenes to make a project like this come to fruition, and it was made much smoother and easier with your help and the love you extend. We have been paddling it as much as we can and it is working wonderfully. There are several camps and youth groups coming to paddle this summer and we are so excited to share this beautiful canoe with you all!

I don't know exactly how we will organize it yet, but we would like to start offering canoe rides at Wallowa Lake to our supporters as well! If you made a donation or were a part of our support network, please reach out and let us know your availability and we will try our best to make it happen. Now that school is out and summer is starting we may make a schedule of time slots available as well so we can get everyone in.

If you are just hearing about this and want to literally get on board and wish to donate to support the next phase of the canoe project or our upcoming canoe day, you can go to our fiscal sponsor site at www.coveascensionschool.com, click the donate button, select "Caretakers of the Land" in the drop down menu, leave us a note and know that you are taking part in an amazing effort!

So awesome to see so many of the efforts over the years coming into fruition!

What a Spring so far! We were able to get the canoe to a water worthy point while still leaving plenty of thickness to help slow the curing process and to be able to gradually thin it over the next few years. We attended the 4th annual Lower Snake River Canoe Journey and Camp and our new relative performed remarkably! The hazard tree we carved it from was longer then we expected so the Kalispell Tribe Canoe Family began roughing it out and we watched it leave the lake yesterday. It has been a similar feeling to separating colts from a herd moving them out to new homes. Now we are on to preparing for all of the late spring and summer doings that are in store.

If you wish to support these efforts, we gladly accept donations through our fiscal sponsor by going to www.coveascensionschool.com, clicking the donate button at the top of the page, and selecting Caretakers of the Land in the drop down menu. All proceeds go 100% towards Land and Water-Based Seasonal-Round immersion activities.
