This weekend CVRS had an incredible evening celebrating our members for our Installation Banquet. We are truly grateful to everyone who attended and helped make the night so special.
To our members, thank you for your unwavering dedication, countless volunteer hours, and selfless commitment to serving our community. Your willingness to answer the call—day or night—is what makes our squad so strong.
To our families, friends, and our community, thank you for your continued encouragement and support. We could not do what we do without each of you standing beside us.

We would also like to extend a very special and heartfelt thank you to our outgoing Chief R. Hatfield, your years of leadership, sacrifice, and dedication helped shape this organization into what it is today. You have spent so much of your life serving others, mentoring members, and always putting the community first. While you are now facing medical challenges of your own, please know that the same family you helped build is standing with you. Your impact reaches far beyond the calls you've answered—it lives on in every member you've inspired and every life you've touched. We are forever grateful for your service, and you remain in our thoughts and prayers as you continue your journey.

Finally, thank you to everyone who worked behind the scenes to plan, decorate, prepare the meal, and ensure the evening was a success. Your hard work and generosity made this celebration possible.
As we install our new officers and begin another year of service, we look forward to continuing our mission with pride, compassion, and dedication. Thank you for believing in us, supporting us, and allowing us the privilege of serving this wonderful community.
Here's to another year of teamwork, service, and always answering the call.

Courtland Rescue is asking our community to come together in support of the Reyes family during an incredibly difficult time.
Nickolas and Jonathan Reyes have faithfully served our community, always answering the call to help others. This week their family is grieving the heartbreaking loss of a newborn child.
As they navigate this unimaginable loss, they are also facing unexpected expenses related to medical care, funeral arrangements, and travel for loved ones. We hope to help ease some of that burden so they can focus on healing and being together as a family.
The Reyes family has dedicated countless hours to serving others through fire, rescue, and military service. Now, it's our turn to support them. Please consider donating, sharing this fundraiser, or keeping the Reyes family in your thoughts and prayers. Every act of kindness is deeply appreciated

Nickolas Reyes and his brother Jonathan Reyes are both dedicated members of… Kavin Adams needs your support for Support the Reyes Family in Their Time of Loss

A strong cold front approaches the area Monday, with strong to severe storms looking increasingly likely from late morning through the evening. Impacts from this system could be significant. All severe hazards are possible with damaging winds and isolated tornadoes the primary threats. Stay weather aware and continue to monitor forecasts over the weekend!

Today we’re proud to have our Captain representing our little hometown at the Virginia Safety Summit in Chesterfield! As a Fire & Life Safety Educator, she’s spending the day learning and sharing ideas with safety leaders from across the state to help keep our communities safer.
A big thank you to the Virginia Fire & Life Safety Coalition, the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and Virginia Department of Fire Programs for bringing everyone together for such an important event.
We’re proud to see Courtland and Southampton County represented and appreciate the work being done to bring valuable safety education back home to our community. 🚑🔥

On the behalf of the Southampton County Sheriff’s Office Family, I would like to thank the citizens of Southampton County and the City of Franklin for your cooperation in staying home off the roads during the recent ice storm last weekend.

We are asking for your cooperation again this weekend as severe weather moves in. The forecast is calling for lots of snow on top of the ice that is left from last week.

Please stay off the roads if at all possible, enjoy family, and most of all stay safe. Call and check on our elderly and don't forget about our fury friends.

Josh A. Wyche Sr.
Sheriff
