Today, I visited Whatcom Transportation Authority - WTA’s electric bus facility in Bellingham to see how WTA’s new electric buses will help provide cleaner, more reliable transportation options for Washingtonians.

I will continue to push for strong federal investment to put more zero-emission buses on the road.

Please forward the following to all of your Island partners and interested parties!

The Island Regional Transportation Planning Organization is conducting a survey to determine current use and need for electric vehicle charging infrastructure and increase electric vehicle awareness for Island County residents and visitors. This survey is intended to get a sense of the general level of awareness of electric vehicles and their benefits, and to pinpoint locations where charging stations are most desired.

The new Whidbey-Camano Islands Chapter of the Electric Auto Association (EAA) is looking for board members to shape the future of and advocate for electric vehicles. Open positions include president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, and community liaison. Founded in 1967, EAA is the world’s largest electric vehicle advocacy group. The IRTPO is doing a planning session on opening up the islands to EVSE and EV infrastructure, which is super duper awesome. This means we need to get our stuff together too.
