Only In Kansas rounded up five fascinating Kansas ghost towns, and several of them are right here in our neck of the woods!

From Diamond Springs, once an important stop along the Santa Fe Trail, to the tiny communities of Dunlap, Bushong and Elmdale, there’s a whole lot of history tucked into the countryside surrounding the City of Council Grove.

It’s just one more reason to make Council Grove your home base for exploring The Flint Hills. Spend the day wandering backroads and discovering forgotten pieces of Kansas history, then come back to Council Grove for a great meal, a little shopping and a comfortable place to stay.

Today we had the pleasure of officially welcoming Casey's to the Council Grove business community with a ribbon-cutting at their newly opened location!

New businesses mean new jobs, new investment, and new opportunities for our community, and we’re excited to have Casey’s call Council Grove home.

A special thank you to Greater Morris County Development Corporation (GMDC) for the work they put in behind the scenes to help bring this project to Council Grove. Economic development is truly a team effort, and we’re grateful for their continued work to attract investment and help our community grow.

Daily from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM

PLEASE READ: Because we are an operating hotel, there may be certain days when tours are unavailable—especially when we are fully booked and guests are occupying our rooms.
