Grantee Spotlight 🌟 Family Housing Advisory Services

In the most recent grant cycle, Iowa West Foundation awarded $30,000 to Family Housing Advisory Services to expand housing stability counseling and case management for Council Bluffs families.

Through this program, a dedicated HUD-certified counselor will work one-on-one with 85 local households to help families navigate budgeting, credit, tenant rights, and long-term housing stability. Twenty-five households at the highest risk of housing loss will receive intensive case management.

A new opportunity is opening the door for more people to celebrate the communities they call home. Earlier this year, we launched Belonging Grants 2.0 in communities across Pottawattamie County by partnering with each city to fund a new event or expanded activity.

This effort is rooted in what we heard during rural Imagine Hour conversations when community leaders expressed interest in bringing people in their communities together. These grants are designed to do exactly that, helping turn local ideas into meaningful experiences for residents and neighbors.

Each community to participate receives $1000 toward their event, and include:
Past: Crescent Zip Code Days + Carson Jubilee
Upcoming:
Treynor Green Space Jam: June 11th, July 16th, Aug. 13th
Macedonia Midsummer Nights: July, 2, 9, 16, 23, 30
AvocaDays: July 3rd-5th
Shelby: July 4th
Minden 150 Years +1: Delayed, Not Deterred: July 11th
Underwood Harvest Party: August 22nd
Walnut Sauerkraut Day: August 22nd
Neola HooDoo Days: Sept. 4-6th
