Hello Neighbors!! I’m so excited to have the page up and going once again! To Be able to answer your questions and let everyone know of any changes to hours if that becomes necessary! First I want to say welcome!! This is a space for civil conversation and respect for all. If you can not comply with those rules this is not the place for you! If it becomes a problem you will be removed!
I also want to take a moment to say thank you! I know there have been some changes that we are all getting used to but almost all of you have been so patient and extremely understanding! The volunteers and I appreciate you so much! We have a few more things to work out but it’s getting there!
To clear up something that I have been made aware of:
We are NOT a first come first serve pantry. ALL will be served here. Whether you choose to come and wait an hour before we open or 10 minutes before we close you will get food. We may run out of one or two items but we will be happy to replace it with something else we have in stock. DO we have you line up in your vehicle (if you drive) out front, yes. DO we go in order that you pull up, yes. This is to insure that your order is filled correctly and given to the correct vehicle. Not because you showed up first. Folks who walk don’t get special treatment over those that drive. They don’t get more food. An order for one person takes a lot less time to fill out paper work and for the volunteers to pull, than a larger family or someone picking up for more than one person. Having a congested lobby also slows down the process of getting orders filled and out the door. The only exceptions to this rule is those with food allergies, intolerances, or for religious reasons and that is if we have products that we can help those folks with. We are open from 2-6 pm every Friday(any exception will be posted here and we will let you know ahead of time unless there is an emergency). You may come anytime between those hours. If you do not have the patience to wait in line for a period of time while we serve Everyone, I suggest coming later in the afternoon. The time you choose is up to you, but know the earlier you come the longer you will wait. Our volunteers work hard to make sure everyone is served in a timely manner. The more people the more time it takes. We like being able to give you the option of the things that you want to get, and not just a random box of food. But to be able to continue that we need everyone’s understanding and patience.
