Dr. Collin Gillmore spoke today. He was a prior Camp Hot Shots camper and counselor and now a physician. We love having Alumni visit camp.

He shared his experiences at camp and life having diabetes.  He dropped a lot of wisdom, including the importance of coming to camps and that diabetes does not define the child - they are not a diabetic - they are a person who is smart, compassionate, among other traits who happens to have diabetes. 

He joked that if he can become a doctor so can they. Diabetes doesn't have to limit these kids!

We attended the Casino Night Fundraising event for the Omaha I80 Cosmopolitan Club. They are doing great things within diabetes community and we are grateful to be a recipient of their generosity. Ella and Alaina Shade were the speakers this year. Their family has been involved with Camp Hot Shots for many years. These two did a great job sharing what diabetes camps means to them! Thank you!
