New this year, the Foundation introduced a $5,000 Building Grant designed to support larger-scale projects that enhance teaching and learning across an entire school building. Unlike traditional classroom grants awarded to individual teachers, the Building Grant supports shared instructional resources or initiatives that benefit multiple classrooms or grade levels.

Bloomer Elementary was selected as the inaugural recipient of the Building Grant for its Amelia Bloomer’s Literacy Landscape project. Funding from the grant will help create reading nooks throughout the school, providing welcoming spaces where students can relax, explore books, and build a love of reading ♥ Thank you Mrs. Kazmierczak for submitting this wonderful grant. We are so excited to see this project come to life!

We are still smiling after an incredible evening at Cheers for CB Schools! and it’s all because of you!

The night was a powerful reminder of the impact we can make when we come together in support of our schools. Your generosity helped raise $17,000 for the Foundation’s Annual Grants Program, supporting innovative classroom projects and meaningful learning opportunities for students and staff across the district.

We would like to thank Full Fledged Brewing Company for hosting our event this year. Your staff were incredibly kind and welcoming ♥

Thank you to Touch of Grey for providing the good vibes and fun music for everyone! 👏

Thank you to Kristen's Kitchen LLC, Viva Fit Kitchen, and Barley's Bar for supplying the DELICIOUS food 🙌

A special thank you to our event sponsors: Hub International, Emilee Jensen - Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate, Community Foundation for Western Iowa, TS Bank, Rasmussen Mechanical Services, Glenwood State Bank, Big Brother Big Sisters, Paula & David Hazelwood, Sarah & Mike Wolf, Jenny & Todd Johnson, Brandon Garrett, and Josh Kallsen.

And of course, this event would not be possible without our Community Impact Sponsors: Cox Communications, Iowa Western Community College, American National Bank, John Dresher with American Family Insurance, Judd Knispel with State Farm Insurance, Joe Clanton with Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate, Engineering Technologies Inc, Heartland Properties, Loess Hills Landscaping, Omni Centre, and Inotek. Thank you for believing in our mission!

We'll see you all next year! 😁

Check out these awesome abstract sculptures!

Thanks to your generosity, Miranda Tudehope, a Visual Arts Teacher at Bloomer and Lewis & Clark, was recently awarded a $995 Classroom Grant for her project "Time to Learn through Painting and Sculpting."

"As an art teacher, I focus on how I can create diverse experiences in the art room that engage students in their learning about art and other concepts while still building that grit that will carry over to all other aspects of learning," says Miranda. "For quality instruction and educational growth, I find it is important to have opportunities where my students can thrive in the art room while learning the national art standards and concepts. Thank you for the grant that allowed my students to have this experience!"

You have the power to grant more opportunities like this to students and classrooms across the Council Bluffs Community School District. Make an impact today at cbsf.org. ♥

We are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of enthusiasm and support following the announcement of Bloom, our new expansion of Kids & Company. This program represents an important step forward in expanding care and opportunities for children and families in our community, and it simply wouldn’t be possible without you.

Bloom is rooted in collaboration. We are proud to partner with MICAH House and Florence M. Lakin Child Development Center, whose shared commitment to children and families strengthens this vision. We also extend our sincere thanks to Broadway United Methodist Church, CHI Mercy Hospital, and the Lozier Foundation for their generous support and belief in this work.

Together, we are building something meaningful, creating spaces where children can grow, thrive, and truly bloom. Thank you for being part of this journey with us.
