A report from Habitat for Humanity International found 3 in 4 people cut essentials for housing.

More than half reported housing costs make starting a family harder to consider, and 48% said a single unexpected expense could put their home at risk.

Several members of our team are celebrating 50 years of Habitat for Humanity at the Habitat for Humanity International U.S. Affiliate Conference in Atlanta, this week, meeting other affiliates and learning all they can to help us build homes, community and hope 🏡

Some members of our team even got to stop by Koinonia Farm in Americus, Georgia. It was on that farm that Habitat’s founders Millard and Linda Fuller developed the concept of “partnership housing," which centered on those in need of adequate shelter working side by side with volunteers to build decent, affordable houses. Years later, in 1976, the Fullers founded Habitat for Humanity

Now, Habitat spans all 50 states in the U.S. and more than 70 countries world-wide.

Having a safe place to call home transforms lives.

On this World Habitat Day, we want to reflect on the work we've done in Council Bluffs to fulfill our belief that everyone deserves to have a decent place to live 💖

Since 1993, Habitat CB has:

🏡 Built and dedicated 105 homes, with 15 more expected to be completed in the next year.

🔨 Completed 157 crital repairs on owner-occupied homes.

🏘️ Completed 143 projects impacting 26 homes during our 2025 Rock-the-Block, Neighborhood Revitalization event.

♻️ Diverted over 450 tons of usable material from local landfills through donations to our Council Bluffs Habitat for Humanity ReStore.

What an incredible day it has been celebrating our newest homeowner, Tia!

Tia found out about our Homeownership Program through our partnership with Tyson Foods, and her and her son will soon be moving into our 105th build 🎊
