As giving season begins, please consider supporting the Lewis Central Education Foundation in our mission to provide classroom grants to educators in the district.
LCEF board member Amanda Clanton’s eyes lit up when we read Devin Yeoman’s request for laparoscopic tools last spring. She couldn’t wait to vote yes. The entire room chatted about how amazing his anatomy class sounded. Some shared about not having this opportunity in college level anatomy classes.
Coupled with previoulsy granted endoscopic cameras, Mr. Yeoman made a request that would level up LC Anatomy classes for all of his students. When talking to high school juniors and seniors about this lesson, they buzz with excitement. We’ve heard claims of having “fun” and the lesson being “so cool” from multiple Titans.
We offer grants to LC teachers twice per year, in spring & fall. This fall, we had over 40 submissions and each school was represented. That’s up 400% from spring. Thanks to our amazing donors, this fall, we were able to fully grant 26 requests, help find alternate funding for 9 requests and roll over 4 to the spring cycle. Approved fall grants included ukeleles, flexible seating and organizational rugs, a drone, robots, art tools, literacy and phonics tools, anamometers for meteorology, sound mixing tools and so much more!
A gift today will help us fund future grant cycles and continue to serve the Titan community in the classroom! Take advantage of the SHAREIowa matching opportunity by using the QR code or link below to donate today.
