Children's Square is in need of unisex and boy quilts up to twin size. If you can help, you can drop off quilts at Cut Up and Quilt or arrange a time to drop off at my house. You could also drop off quilts directly to Children's Square. These quilts are so appreciated by the children who receive them! ❤️

Thanks for caring for our community.

I'm passing along this message from Ginny Debates. Quilts and blankets can be dropped off at Cut Up and Quilt. I will pick them up and bring them to the Project Linus event.

Here is the lasted Omaha Linus Update!

Recently, we have had requests for large amounts of Linus blankets to be passed out this fall and Holiday Season----so I know our need will be even greater than years past. We would appreciate anyway that you can help us. Below is the information that is provided on the flyer. (Let me know if you would like anything more specific.)

I have also included a link to a video that shows how to make a well-made Linus blanket. We receive many blankets that we have to fix and that means the blankets stay with us instead of with the kids who need them. The fleece must be at least 1 1/2 yards in length as anything smaller comes out like a beach towel---long and skinny.

If you have kids creating the blankets, please make sure they cut the salvage edge of the fabric off before they begin the blanket and that the knots are securely tied. Having an adult check the blankets after the kids have completed them helps a lot!!!

God bless your kind heart for wanting to help us!!! ❤️Ginny

Save the date! Saturday, October 19th, 2019

Sure hope you can attend! Bring your friends and families, too!

You are invited!!!
We are 15! Let's celebrate!

Project Linus is a volunteer organization with a mission to provide a sense of comfort to children who are seriously ill or traumatized through the gifts of new, handmade blankets or afghans, crafted by volunteer “blanketeers.” All blankets donated to our local chapter of this nation-wide organization are given to seriously ill or traumatized children of the Greater Omaha and Council Bluffs area. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute something special to our local children in need. This is our 14th Birthday Party for our chapter. Over the last 15 years YOU have donated over 70,000 blankets to local kids in need. Come help us celebrate!

When? Saturday, October 19, 2019 Where? Bryan High School
From 9am-1pm 4700 Giles Road Omaha, NE

What you need to bring? You can bring 1 1/2 or 2 yards of printed fleece with a matching solid piece for the back and scissors. Don't know how? NO PROBLEM!!! We will teach you! :) You can also bring new, handmade, washable blankets and afghans OR bring your knitting, crocheting, or your sewing machine and you can stay and make a blanket with us OR just bring yourself and a friend! We will have a limited number of fleece pieces to make some no-sew blankets. Also bring a snack to share, if you like!

If you can’t join us for that day but would still like to contribute, we would love donations of cotton fabric, batting, fleece, yarn or cash, etc… For more information please call Omaha Project Linus at (402)212-3975 or [email protected] or visit our website at www.omahaprojectlinus.org

We dropped off around 200 quilts tonight at the Glenwood Resource Center. Laurie has been a great help and is working with those in charge to organize the distribution of the quilts.

Thank you to everyone who contributed. Pray for all the families affected by this long-term disaster and for their recovery.

Thanks to everyone who dropped off items at Cut Up and Quilt. We are bringing them to Glenwood today. I also posted a list of items they need as of this morning. The clean up is underway and will be going on for awhile.

Sounds right to me. 🙂

I wanted to give you an update on the quilt drive we are conducting for Mills County flood victims. I am working with the Glenwood Resource Center to figure out the best way to connect with families. They are still in crisis mode and most not back in their homes yet. It is their recommendation and it makes more sense to wait until they are in recovery mode and have a place to keep the quilts. This may be in two weeks or two months and will probably be on going for a while.

So, thank you to everyone who has given quilts. We will continue to collect them as there are hundreds of families affected. Bigger lap quilts to twin size would be great. We will continue to use Cut Up and Quilt and First Christian Church as drop off sites. Or contact me to make other arrangements.

Thank you to everyone who dropped off quilts and blankets at Cut Up and Quilt!!

We are collecting quilts for Mills County flood victims. These will be given to the Mills County Food Pantry in Glenwood for distribution. I have contacted them and they will gladly accept them!

If you would like to donate a finished, handmade quilt, you can drop them off at Cut Up & Quilt quilt shop, First Christian Church in Council Bluffs or contact me to set up a time to bring them to my house ([email protected])

I believe all sizes would be welcome but would recommend a large lap (50x60ish) to twin-size (72x90ish).

Please let me know if you have any questions. Let's spread some quilty love.
