🩺 Measles: What Older Adults & Caregivers Should Know
Iowa health officials are responding to a measles outbreak affecting multiple counties, including areas of southern Iowa.
Measles is highly contagious. Symptoms can include fever, cough, runny nose, red or watery eyes, and a rash that typically begins on the face and spreads.
If you think you may have been exposed or develop symptoms, call your healthcare provider before going to the office or emergency room so they can help protect others from possible exposure.
Not sure if you are protected against measles? Talk with your healthcare provider or local public health agency about your vaccination history.
