Our Executive Director Susan Enewold made an appearance on the news discussing how Council Bluffs is becoming a destination for persons with different abilities and how inclusive we are becoming!

Several years ago Council Bluffs CARES team members and friends worked with the city to develop the Manawa City Park renovations to make it a more inclusive park with special access points and features so persons in wheelchairs or mobility challenges could enjoy a park! We also were able to have Parks & Rec design a sensory garden where everyone could walk and enjoy nature in a safe place!

Council Bluffs is earning national praise from Paralympic athletes for its walkability and accessible venues as it hosts the Boccia National Championships.
