Recently there was a fire at an RV parked at VFW Post 7400, resulting in 3 RVs damagevwithnonenofbtgem burning to the ground. We now have 3 displaced veterans and 2 dependents. The Red Cross arrived on scene and provided funds for them to get temporary housing. We still have one now 6 day since the and the temporary lodging funds from the Red Cross and the VFW is almost depleted.
If you can help please go.onto our website at VFW7400.ORG and there is a place for Buddy Poppy donations we are using for the fire victims. You can send a check to Quartermaster Russell Pritchett at PO Box 689, Cottonwood, AZ 86326. Make sure you write in the Memo Fire Victims, and finally drop by and drop off your donation at 705 E Aspen Street, Cottonwood, AZ 86326.
10.5 shoes for men, pants waist 38 length 32, T-shirts size Large, X large and 2 xxlarge are needed. Thanks to US Vets we have care bags with toiletries and more.
The VFW Post 7400 has and continues to assist the Veterans and dependents as needed. We have been supported graciously by the Quail Country Quilters, our Bingo Players and more.
Finally we are so.proud of the Cottonwood and Verde Rural Fire Departments,Cottonwood Police Department Officers and Minerals Research, APS, and Red Cross, who provided support in helping extinquish the Fire and support the victims. It's great to live in a community of these great organizations.
