The impact of a good education rarely stops with one student.

Knowledge travels into workplaces, homes, neighborhoods, and eventually the next generation. That's part of what makes our support of 𝗔𝗿𝗻𝗶 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 and 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗰𝘂𝗱𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 so meaningful.

Helping students learn today strengthens the communities they'll help shape tomorrow.

A school's influence isn't confined to its classrooms.

At 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗰𝘂𝗱𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗶𝗻 𝗧𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗺, students in grades six through twelve are building the academic foundation they can carry into college, careers, family life, and their communities.

Supporting education means investing in what those young people may someday contribute to others.

𝗗𝗿. 𝗜𝗱𝗮 𝗦𝗼𝗽𝗵𝗶𝗮 𝗦𝗰𝘂𝗱𝗱𝗲𝗿 didn't simply provide medical care. She helped create a way for that care to multiply.

By educating Indian women to become nurses and doctors, she helped build local medical expertise that could serve generation after generation.

CMC Vellore is a powerful reminder of what can happen when philanthropy invests not only in today's needs, but also in tomorrow's people.

Behind every successful hospital is a dedicated team.

Doctors, nurses, technicians, and support staff at 𝗦𝗰𝘂𝗱𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 work together every day to provide compassionate care for their community. Their commitment reflects the same spirit of service that inspired the hospital's founding.

𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝗽𝘆 𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗗𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗥𝗼𝗼𝘁𝘀

Long before "giving back" became a familiar phrase, generations of the Scudder family were putting it into practice.

They established hospitals, schools, and medical programs designed to serve communities in South India. The buildings and institutions are part of that legacy, but the greater inheritance is the belief that resources, knowledge, and opportunity are meant to be shared.

That spirit of philanthropy remains central to The Scudder Foundation.

A high school diploma becomes possible. Higher education comes within reach. New career paths can open.

That's why educational support at 𝗔𝗿𝗻𝗶 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 matters. It's philanthropy with the potential to change not just a school year, but the direction of a young person's life.

The Scudder Foundation's healthcare philanthropy reaches two very different institutions in South India: 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 & 𝗛𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗻 𝗩𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗲 and 𝗦𝗰𝘂𝗱𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗻 𝗥𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗽𝗲𝘁.

Different settings. Different needs. A shared commitment to treating people with skill and compassion.

The Hoosier Connection explores the people and relationships that created an enduring link between these two very different parts of the world, united by a desire to improve the lives of others.
