We are still diligently working to open . Our name is officially registered, by-laws are done, Kids at Hope is excited to be our fiscal agent, we met with the counsel during thier work session and they were all very positive about reopening the center and we hope to formally present to them at their first meeting in November.

We believe that all youth are capable of success and it is the obligation of caring adults to connect with youth in meaningful and sustainable ways. But we are living in a world of broken and hurting families, adults, youth and children. Therefore, we are working diligently to create a space and a culture that brings caring adults to the assistance of the youth in our community.

The committee to open (former Teen Center) is moving forward and hoping to open sometime this fall. There is a lot of effort to rebrand, recreate, and provide the very best gathering place for our local youth. This will need community support and volunteers that believe ALL YOUTH AND CHILDREN ARE CAPABLE OF SUCCESS NO EXCEPTIONS and provide the time and resources we will need to make this venture safe, sustainable, and successful in the Verde Valley.

Thanks to the Verde Independent for the great update on the Teen Center. Discussions are taking place to reopen the Teen Center. Kathy Wombacher and Greg Feltmann are cochairs, Matt McLean is secretary, with Brandi Christine Bateman as treasurer. COTTONWOOD -- Programs at the Verde Valley Teen Center along Mingus Avenue have been on hold due to lack of volunteers. Now, some local leaders are trying to bring it back.

Verde Valley Teen Center
The Verde Valley Teen Center is currently working on their volunteer schedules for the months of February and March. They are really in need of volunteers and require at least two adult volunteers on the floor to open the center. The teens and community would like them to be open more days of the week but this can only happen with everyone’s participation. Please join them and volunteer where your time makes all the difference.

THURSDAY 3pm - 7pm
FRIDAY & SATURDAY 3pm - 9pm

February 14, 2015 the Verde Valley Teen Center will be hosting a Valentine Teen Dance for 12 to 18 year olds. There will be door prizes, snacks and refreshments with DJ Aaron Anderson. $2 per person and it starts at 6:00 pm.

We are looking for volunteers to help out at the following events:

Verde River Days: The Teen Center is having a booth at Verde River Days selling cotton candy, popcorn and snow cones to raise money for the center. Volunteers are needed on September 27th, 2014 from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm to help with the booth.

Fall Festival: The Teen Center is having it's 2nd annual Fall Festival and volunteers are needed to help with games. The festival is on October 4th, 2014 from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. Shifts are for 3 hours, 11:00 am to 2:00 pm and 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm or for the entire 6 hours.

Come to the Second Annual Fall Festival on October 4th at Verde Valley Moose Lodge in Clarkdale from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. Enjoy a hay ride, pumpkin patch, face painting, carnival games and more! Hamburgers, hot dogs, cotton candy and popcorn will be available. Come out and enjoy this great family entertainment and support the Verde Valley Teen Center.
