PRESS RELEASE
"Members of Verde Valley Disc Golf Club and the Arizona Golden Throwers, an age 50 and over disc golf club from the Phoenix Metro area teamed up to host a Wednesday morning tournament at Cottonwood's Riverfront Park on March 29th. 36 players registered for the event and raised just over $1000 for the Verde Valley Senior Center's Meals on Wheels program. This amount was matched by Sedona-Verde Valley Firefighter Charities.

The event was almost cancelled due to the recent flooding and damage to the Riverfront Disc Golf Course. Thanks to a generous local sponsor 9 temporary disc golf baskets were purchased to provide a "Pop-up" course layout for the event. We would like to thank the City of Cottonwood Parks and Recreation Director, Jak Teel for his assistance in allowing the Pop-up layout and a huge THANK YOU to the entire Public Works maintenance crew for their help with the course preparation. This event couldn't have happened without their support. "

Registration is live and filling fast. Snag your spot before they run out. All proceeds will benefit the Arizona Burn Foundation Camp Courage. Our intent is to introduce disc golf to all attendees and counselors along with custom discs and a tournament at next year's camp. Thanks for your support.

It's official! The 2022 SVVFC Riverfront Rip is now
a PDGA sanctioned event! Registration opens July 15th. We are currently working on our disc manufacturer sponsorship and building the player's packs. More information coming soon.

Sedona-Verde Valley Firefighter Charities would like to recognize Lance McGrath for his contributions to getting Cottonwood's Riverfront Disc Golf Course in playable condition for our annual Riverfront Rip Charity Disc Golf Tournament. Without the brush mower you rented for the Verde Valley Disc Golf Club, it is likely that the event would have been canceled. Additional thanks goes out to Joey Steiner & Michael Hogeweide for running it for two solid days!
