Timothy Kercheville will be gathering with us in Cottontown, TN on May 20th! Tim has been working with J K Brister Eagle and Erica Brister on their family farm Buttercup Farm for the past two seasons. A food forest (vegetables, fruit, mushrooms) have been planted along with flocks of ducks and sheep. The food production along with the community focus is why we are excited to host Tim in Cottontown at the community meeting next month! He is an excellent communicator and works with the children of the homeschool academy to further their fundamental farming studies.

"Timothy Kercheville is a full-time professional farmer and landscape artist with 10 years experience and is connected with the farmers, nursery growers, and property owners across Tennessee and Kentucky, with outreach across the USA, and design experience in 4 states (also Iowa and California). Together with property owners and managers he helps turn *any property of whatever context* into landscapes of glistening food: a harvest of sunlight and cooperative, timely action, within circular seasons of life. He is the owner of Festina Lente Farms Inc., through which company he performs agricultural - landscape design and consulting.

Festina Lente means Hasten Slowly: that is an attitude and commitment across the seasons and life's vicissitudes.

What is the goal of Festina Lente Farms? To transform land management everywhere toward holistic design and food production, and to teach and train new farmers and gardeners into a regenerative agricultural economy."

🤍Cottontown Church Easter Roll Call 🤍

Happy Easter 🤍🤍🤍 “Easter is the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus from the tomb on the third day after his crucifixion. Easter is the fulfilled prophecy of the Messiah who would be persecuted, die for our sins, and rise on the third day (Isaiah 53). Remembering the resurrection of Jesus is a way to renew daily hope that we have victory over sin.”

Let’s support our local churches. Going to church is in our foundational roots of Cottontown. There is no judgment or expectation of any Cottontowner other than to just show up.

So what does the TWRA ~ Extinct Salamanders ~ Sierra Club ~ History Groups ~ and Cottontown have in common?

How do we preserve Cottontown and our rural areas?

1- Come together as a community
2- Get involved in electing those with our lifestyle values

The point of this persons post is 10 years ago all of those groups decided to band together to cause a certain outcome for future growth but disguised as concern for the environment, preservation and community.

These Eagles are 🦅 hanging out in Cottontown!

The founding fathers 🇺🇸 made an appropriate choice when they selected the bald eagle 🦅 as the emblem of the nation. The fierce beauty and proud independence of this great bird aptly symbolizes the strength and freedom of America and Cottontown.

This explains why our community center was torn down.

They bulldozed our perfectly usuable 100+ year old community center for future greenspace.

The demolition of the Cottontown Community Center was just the beginning of a much larger plan for our beloved community that the citizens and residents of Cottontown were not aware of until recently.

We do not want the county, nor anyone or entity outside of Sumner County, to develop plans that disregard what the citizens of Cottontown want for their community. Join the Cottontown Country Community and become involved in supporting our efforts in preserving our historic, rural community.

This Cottontown Community Center is what they tore down.

The government and small groups took away the ownership from the community and then the government took away the key for 3 years and then the government condemned it because of neglect.

It woke up hundreds of Cottontowners. There are Cottontowners with 1 acre to 1200 acres that are passionate about this Community Center.

It was an iconic landmark in Cottontown.

We need your help to rebuild our community center.

Save the Cottontown Community!
Save the Cottontown Community!
The Cottontown Country Community is sponsoring an initiative to rebuild that Center! The Cottontown Community Center was wrongfully bulldozed in September. We are fighting to keep our country community the way the citizens of Cottontown want it; not local government.
