My wife Linda and I got married right after I enlisted in 1973. Throughout my, oops, OUR career in the military – I say our career because she was essentially in the military with me for 25 years, she stood by me and practically raised our three children by herself while I was deployed at sea. The phrase “Chief Cook and Bottle washer” comes to mind as well as Mom, Dad, Teacher, Nurse, Cook, Maid, Taxi, and Coach, among others also come to mind. I join in and say “Thank You” to my wife Linda Turner, as well as all of the other military spouses, men and women, that have “Stood Tall” and carried the burden while their spouses served in uniform. May is National Military Appreciation Month and among the days celebrated is May 8th, National Military Spouse Appreciation Day. Let’s all remember this day and all of the spouses that have given so much for us all.

Apologize for not posting in a while. Have spent 3 weeks in the hospital with a concussion and broken arm. In rehab now for 6 more weeks.
